Alan Davies is an English comedian, writer and actor who was born in Essex and who lived in Loughton in Essex for most of his life. Davies is best known for starring in mystery series Jonathan Creek alongside Caroline Quentin. Davies has also enjoyed a long successful career as a stand-up comedian.
