Sir Cliff Richard OBE is an English singer-songwriter and actor who was born in British India and went onto to live with his family in Cheshunt in Hertfordshire. Richard attended the local Cheshunt Secondary School which was later renamed Cheshunt School. Richard was Britian's answer to Elvis Presley and his appearances in films such as Wonderful to Be Young! and Summer Holiday catapulted him to overseas audiences and became a massive hit. Richard has retained his popularity in most parts of the world as a major pop star and has had over 120 hit singles in the UK charts. He was the first rock star to be knighted in 1995.
