Emeric Pressburger was an Oscar winning screenwriter, film director and producer of motion pictures for the screen. Pressburger died in Suffolk in the English countryside that he loved so much, aged 85. Pressburger was born in Hugary who worked as a journalist in both Hugary and Germany but it was London where he found his sanctuary and begun his scriptwriting career. Pressburger went on to make some of the most interesting films of the 1940s and 1950s including Oscar nominated The Ivaders, The Red Shoes and One of Our Aircraft Is Missing.
