Guy Ritchie is an English screenwriter and filmmaker of motion pictures for the screen. Ritchie was born in Hatfield in Hertfordshire. After leaving school, Ritchie started his career in the industry as a runner and quickly progressed to directing music videos and commercials. Ritchie’s first full-length feature was Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels which was followed by Snatch starring A-listers Brad Pitt and Beniciodel Toro. Ritchie was awarded a BAFTA nomination for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and won the Empire Award for best British director for Snatch. Unfortunately Ritchie also received the accolade of a razzie award for worst director for Swept Away which starred his former wife, Madonna.
