James Hugh Laurie OBE is a Golden Globe winning English actor, comedian, writer and musician. Laurie was born in Oxford and educated at both Eton and Selwyn College, Cambridge. Laurie met Emma Thompson whilst studying in Cambridge and it was her who later introduced him to Stephen Fry. It was here that Laurie found fame as one half of the Fry and Laurie double act with comedy partner Stephen Fry. Laurie is best known for his performance in comedy cult series Blackadder and more recently as Dr. Gregory House in the American television drama House.
