Kevin Whately is an English actor who was born in Northumberland and trained as an accountant before becoming an actor. Whately now lives in a quiet rural village in Bedfordshire with his wife, fellow actress Madelaine Newton and their two children.
Whately is probably best known for his role as Neville in the classic BBC comedy Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, his role as Dr Jack Kerruish in ITV drama series Peak Practice and most recently as DI Robert Lewis in Inspector Lewis which followed the conclusion of Inspector Morse which saw Whately co-star alongside the late John Thaw.
