Ronnie Barker OBE was a much respected BAFTA award winning English actor and comedian who was born in Bedford in Bedfordshire. Barker is best know for his roles as Norman Stanley Fletcher in the hit British comedy television series Porridge, as various characters in the enormously popular series The Two Ronnies and as Albert Arkwright in Open All Hours. Barker remains one of Britian's most popular television comedy stars. Barker receieved two lifetime achievement awards from the British Comedy Awards, sharing one with Ronnie Corbett for The Two Ronnies.
