Terence Young was a British film director born in Shanghai in China and then educated at St Catherine's College in the University of Cambridge. Young started his career as a screenwriter in British Films, his first directorial credit was for Corridor of Mirrors starring Christopher Lee. Young is probably best known for directing three films, including the first in the James Bond series Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Thunderball. In 1983 Young directed The Jigsaw Man which was based on a book written by his wife, Dorothea Bennett.
