Tring

Printer friendly version >

Tring is an attractive town below the Chilterns. The Church is a large handsome flint structure dedicated to St Peter and St Paul. It is in the Perpendicular style and built about 1450 with a noble tower. It also has a fine monument to Sir William Gore, former Lord Mayor of London, who lived at Tring Park (now owned by the local authority) towards the end of the 17th Century. Also worth a visit is the Natural History Museum at Tring which houses a vast collection of natural history exhibits fascinating to adults and children alike with mounted specimens from whales to fleas and humming birds to tigers.
