Aldenham is a secluded unspoilt village in one of Hertsmere's 14 conservation areas being largely unchanged since Saxon times. The Church of St John the Baptist in Aldenham is seven hundred years old, but there are also a number of other buildings of historical interest: Aldenham Social Club – a late medieval hall dating from the 1500s; Church Farm House with 16th–18th century features; the old vicarage, a fine example of early 18th century red brick architecture; and Wall Hall, a magnificent gothic revival mansion with a castellated façade created in the early 19th century which has now been turned into a housing development. Aldenham is also home to Bhaktivedanta Manor a Gaudiya Vaishnava temple.
