The Ashridge Estate is a vast swathe of beautiful woodlands and chalk downland at the north end of the Chiltern Hills owned by the National Trust. With 2,000 acres of historic woodland, there’s a network of footpaths and bridleways to explore, including easy access trails. The ancient woodlands have carpets of spring bluebells and fine autumnal displays, a rich variety of wildlife, such as red kite and fallow deer, historical remains from Iron Age to Victorian era and excellent views from Ivinghoe Beacon and the Duke of Bridgewater Monument.
