Traditional coaching inn dating back to the 15th century and reputedly one of the most haunted sites in England! The hotel provided accommodation for the cast and crew of Dad's Army during filming. There is a small display area with photos. The very first scene in the first episode was filmed inside the hotel in the area which is now the restaurant. Thetford has established a Dad's Army Museum in The Guildhall which includes a mock up of Cpt Mainwaring's office, photos of filming and memorabilia as well as a display about Thetford's real Home Guard.
