Bricket Wood is approximately 4 miles from the historic city of St Albans and partially surrounded by woodland. There are plenty of woodland and countryside walks as well as bridleways. Bricket Wood is noted for its association with naturism and has been host to seven naturist clubs, some of which are still operational. Fiveacres Country Club (founded in 1927 off Oakwood Road) is the UK's oldest naturist club on the same site; the village is also noted for witchcraft! Bricket Wood Common with its ancient semi-natural woodland offers a number of paths for walkers to explore.
