The historic town of Buntingford is lies on the Roman Ermine Street and in the 18th and 19th centuries and was an important coaching town given as it was located midway between London and Cambridge. The High Street contains many fine listed buildings, including St Peter's Church, the first brick built church in England, and the unique one-handed town clock. The River Rib runs through the town and is still home to kingfishers.
