Christopher Place is one of two small pleasant modern shopping centres in the historic city of St Albans close to Market Place. There is a selection of high end retail outlets, beauty salons and restaurants. St Albans is a heritage city dating back to Roman times with a magnificent cathedral, historic churches, museums, coaching inns and specialist as well as high street shopping. There is a regular market, two small shopping centres, plenty of places to stay and the city hosts numerous events and festivals throughout the year. The River Ver runs through what is now Verulamium Park, a 100 acre parkland close to the city centre and popular for walks and recreation.
