Cley-next-the Sea

Printer friendly version >

Cley next the Sea is dominated by its picturesque 18th century windmill. The village has quaint cobbled paths, flint cottages and properties with unusual Georgian and Flemish influences. At the top end next to the village green sits the commanding 13th century St Margaret's Church. There is a delicatessen, craft gallery, a smoke house, bookshop, tea shops and a country pub as well as places to stay. Whilst the village is nearly a mile from the sea, there is a shingle beach accessed by walking over the marshes, now an area of outstanding natural beauty.
