Codicote is a large village with timber-framed and chequered brick houses a few miles north of Welwyn. Of special interest is the 18th-century Pond House and near to the village green is ‘As You Like It’, a Thai restaurant that was formerly a pub called The George and Dragon. It is the oldest licensed premise in Hertfordshire having held a license since 1279. There is also a good selection of local shops, restaurants and pubs. Private properties in the area have been used for filming.
