Little Berkhamsted

Printer friendly version >

Although it can trace its past back to Saxon times, Little Berkhamsted’s is famous for being the site where William the Conqueror accepted the surrender of the City of London after the Battle of Hastings. The most notable landmark in the village is Stratton’s Folly, a Georgian prospect tower built in 1789 close to the site of a former brewhouse. There is an attractive church, St Andrews and The Five Horseshoes, a Chef and Brewer pub. There are a number of bridleways and field paths around the village. A number of private houses are registered as filming locations and have therefore had filming.
