East Hyde is one of the few easily accessible areas of water meadow along this stretch of the Upper Lea Valley and is home to an array of birdlife some of whom are resident and others are migrants. To the east of the river lies the ruins of Someries Castle and the hamlet of East Hyde. To the west is the Luton Hoo Estate and the 5 Star Luton Hoo Hotel. East Hyde is ituated on the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire border four miles south-east of Luton. A private house in the area has been used for filming purposes.
