Elm Hill is one of Norwich’s oldest and prettiest streets with many independent traders, such as The Bear Shop, galleries laden with paintings, sculpture and jewellery and residential premises all located in the heart of this heritage city. It is particularly known for its beautiful Medieval cobblestones, Tudor architecture and timber work, 17th century dormer windows and Georgian facades. Following the great fire of 1507, Elm Hill was rebuilt resulting in today’s genuine Tudor houses and shops. There are in fact more Tudor houses in Elm Hill than there are in the City of London explaining why it is popular with visitors and filmmakers.
