Elstree is a small village west of Borehamwood. It is most famous for giving its name to the Elstree Film Studios. Elstree has local shops and amenities including pubs and restaurants. St Nicholas Church was dedicated to the Saint in 1424 (rebuilt in 1852-3) and several buildings date from the late medieval period, including the Holly Bush pub, the High Street include Schopwick Place, the Artichoke pub and the Plough pub now the East Restaurant. Nearby is the Aldenham Country Park, a 175 acre woodland and parkland park set around a large reservoir. Elstree Aerodrome has a paved 656 metre runway, suitable for light aircraft use. Elstree Auction Rooms where this filming took place is not open to the public.
