The Five Horseshoes, a Chef and Brewer pub, is located in the village of Little Berkhamsted which can trace its past back to Saxon times. Little Berkhamsted’s is famous for being the site where William the Conqueror accepted the surrender of the City of London after the Battle of Hastings. The most notable landmark in the village is Stratton’s Folly, a Georgian prospect tower built in 1789 close to the site of a former brewhouse.
