Formerly called Gardens of the Rose, the Royal National Rose Society Gardens cover more than five acres and were officially opened in 2007 by Peter Seabrook, a renowned garden expert, with design by Michael Balston & Co. The gardens have been designed to reflect a living illustration of the development of roses and rose-breeding trends and to trace the development of rose breeding. Other highlights include small model gardens, the replanted Queen Mother garden and a grass maze. The Garden's new tea-room is open to non-garden visitors.
