The charming thatched Half-Moon Inn is situated in the Essex village of Belchamp St Paul situated in the beautiful Stour Valley on the Suffolk and Essex border surrounded by beautiful countryside. Previous patrons have found The Half-Moon a friendly local pub with a good cellar which is Cask Marque awarded. Sunday lunch is popular so booking is advised and there is outdoor seating. St Andrew’s church about a mile from the village centre was rebuilt during the latter part of the 15th century. The chancel has two choir stalls of 15th or 16th century with what has been described as grotesque and foliated misericords. There are only two churches in Essex with misericords, small wooden shelves underneath the folding seats for those who could not stand for long periods.
