Hatfield Business Park (formerly British Aerospace site)

Printer friendly version >

During the 1930s Hatfield became known for its links to the aviation industry with Mosquito and Trident aircraft being built there. However Hatfield's aerospace and military production history remains in name only through street and place names. The vacated premises and surrounding grounds have been used effectively as temporary film sets for the Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan. Hatfield Business Park and the University of Hertfordshire have been built on the site of the old aerodrome.

Hatfield Old Town and the magnificent Hatfield House are nearby. The History of Hatfield's Aviation Industry can be seen at the De Havilland Heritage Centre at London Colney about 8 miles from Hatfield.
