Built in 1820 by Lord Suffield as a marine residence, the building was converted into a hotel by Pierre le Francois in 1830. It is now an imposing, traditional-style resort hotel, situated in a prominent position with lovely sea views overlooking Cromer’s 19th century pier and beach. Cromer is a delightful seaside town on the Norfolk coast and is renowned for its connections with the sea, fishing, crabs and delightful sunsets. A number of the town’s landmarks include the fine 14th-century church, Cromer Pier and the Pavilion Theatre with its famous end-of-the pier show.
