Hunstanton Pier

Printer friendly version >

The Hunstanton Pier has been thwarted with catastrophe: in 1939 and 1950 it suffered a fire, was reduced to scrap metal in the storms of 1978 and suffered again by fire in 2002. The town has been more fortunate and remains a popular holiday resort retaining much of its Victorian elegance. It is particularly renowned for its unique striped cliffs and stunning sunsets, made extra special by its position as the only west-facing resort on the East coast. There are all the traditional seaside attractions, such as donkey rides on the beach or sea buggy rides and beautifully maintained gardens.
