Since 1456 there has been a mansion house within what was then known as Manor of More. Set amongst 300 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, the Moor Park Golf Club is open to non-members. During World War II the Armed Forces were based in the Paladian mansion (now the clubhouse). It is here that the infamous Battle of Arnhem was planned (depicted in "A Bridge Too Far") in what is known as the Arnhem Room. The room is home to the Parachute Regiment’s memorabilia who were much involved in the battle. All the rooms have been fully restored and tours can be arranged. A number of private properties in the vicinity of Moor Park Golf Club have been used for location filming.
