On the border with Suffolk and Cambridgeshire, Rowley Mile is one of two race courses at Newmarket, the historic home of horseracing and the headquarters for thoroughbred racing. There is no town anywhere else in the world with as many racehorses, trainers, stable staff, stud farms and racing organisations all based in once place! Newmarket is the original home of the Jockey Club, home to Palace House, a 17th century royal palace which was Charles II’s Newmarket residence given his love of horseracing, and the National Horseracing Museum. Newmarket offers a ‘Newmarket Experience’ providing a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes. Tours can be arranged for groups and individuals and tailored to visitor requirements Newmarket hosts a variety events throughout the year combining racing with a spectacular open air concert.
