The delightful Plough Wood is surrounded by Hertfordshire countryside and situated between Belsize and the charming rural village of Sarratt close to the border with Buckinghamshire. The River Chess passes through Sarratt which, in addition to having been a film set, has also appeared in the novels by John le Carré, where Sarratt was the fictional location of a major establishment of the British intelligence service. The village has a country pub and the charming flint and brick Church of the Holy Cross founded in 1190. There are some beautiful woodland and country walks in and around Plough Wood and Sarratt; the Hertfordshire Way footpath is also close by. Sarratt also hosts an annual music festival.
