The grade 2 listed St Catherine’s Church is set in a secluded position on the edge of Sacombe Park, below the hamlet of Sacombe Green and overlooking Sacombe Pound. It dates back to the 14th century and remains a place of great tranquillity. The churchyard was designated a County Wildlife site, following a survey in 1996 that identified nearly 30 species of flowers and grasses. Rabbits, muntjac and other deer also frequent the churchyard, and burrows in the north-east corner show there is a vigorous population of badgers. Sacombe lies on a Roman road.
