Sarratt is a rural village surrounded by pristine Hertfordshire countryside and close to the border with Buckinghamshire. The River Chess passes through the village which in addition to being a film set has also appeared in the novels by John le Carré, where Sarratt was the fictional location of a major establishment of the British intelligence service! There are some beautiful woodland and country walks around the village, a pub and the charming flint and brick Church of the Holy Cross founded in 1190. The village hosts an annual music festival.
