Newly refurbished grade II listed The Town Hall is available for hire for functions, weddings, exhibitions and events in the Regency Room (formerly Assembly Room) and Ryder Room (formerly Mayors Parlour). The front of the building with its impressive Palladian façade is now home to a café and the Tourist and Information centre is located at the back of the building. The 1831 courtroom, one of only few remaining pre Victorian Courtrooms in the country, is often used for filming. The Town Hall is in the centre of the city close to the Cathedral and the main shopping area.
