St Pauls & St Peters Church, Runham

Printer friendly version >

The church stands on the edge of Runham village on the River Bure and consists of a west tower, nave with a north porch and a chancel. The nave has windows dating from the 14th century, the chancel is newer and the north porch perhaps more recent still. Some Victorian restoration has spoilt the mediaeval work, but in other cases it has enhanced it especially concerning the top of the tower where the double stepped parapets and pinnacles are allegedly the best of their period. The stained glass with the sword and cross keys devices represents the patron saints of the church, Paul and Peter.
