Stanford Training Ground is not accessible to the public but nearby Thetford is an ancient market town surrounded by beautiful Norfolk countryside filled with heritage sites, quiet gardens, open parkland and a relaxing riverside; it is well worth a visit. With Thetford Forest and its patchwork of pines, heathland and broadleaves right on the doorstep, the town is an ideal base for discovering Breckland wildlife, walking, cycling and riding. There is also a heritage trail, a haunted trail and a number of other interesting trails around this charming town.
