This commanding Grade II listed cinema in George Street, Grays was once Thurrock’s most significant cinema but regrettably it is no longer in use. It can however still be clearly seen from the outside. Built in 1938 the State Cinema featured a giant Compton organ and seated 2200. It is now owned by Morrisons supermarket chain.
