Old Town Stevenage developed into a new town after World War II. Whilst the Old Town still has a village feel with its historic buildings, coaching inns and pubs, the new town centre has good leisure and entertainment facilities and well known retail outlets. Stevenage Leisure Park is situated near the train station and includes a cinema, ten-pin bowling alley, restaurants and pubs. The Gordon Craig Theatre presents live shows and entertainment and there are many pubs and restaurants. Other attractions include Stevenage Museum, which tells the history of the town, and Knebworth House and Gardens.
