Minsmere RSPB (Royal Society for Protection of Birds) is not far from the town of Saxmundham and is part of the Minsmere to Walberswick Special Protection Area. The reserve is situated on the coast and offers both families and keen birdwatchers a great day out. Delightful nature trails take visitors through a range of habitats and there are well placed hides to watch the birds. The site is particularly renowned for its wetland breeding birds. The visitor centre offers information on the local wildlife, there is a shop and also a tearoom.
