Wangford Warren

Printer friendly version >

Wangford Warren is situated in Breckland which borders Norfolk and Suffolk. Wangford Warren is actually in Suffolk and declared to be the best surviving example of what was once an extensive sand dune system. The site was originally used to rear rabbits and their grazing, along with the local sheep, has played a crucial part in the conservation of this beautiful landscape. A range of specialised plant and animal life in some cases, rare or absent elsewhere in Britain, have made Wangford Warren their home. Visitor parking is however limited and access restricted from March to August (by appointment only) but there is some great walking conditions.
