Ringshall is a small hamlet in the Chiltern Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close the village of Little Gaddesden 3 miles north of Berkhamsted. The whole area falls within the National Trust’s Ashridge Estate. The Ashridge Estate is a vast swathe of beautiful woodlands and chalk downland. With 2,000 acres of historic woodland, there’s a network of footpaths and bridleways to explore, including easy access trails. The ancient woodlands have carpets of spring bluebells and fine autumnal displays and a rich variety of wildlife, such as red kite and fallow deer.
