West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village allows children and adults alike to explore the way our ancestors lived. The early Anglo-Saxon village (c.420-650AD) has been carefully reconstructed where it was excavated and visitors can explore the houses, smell the wood smoke, feel the solid wood, try out the furniture, see the livestock and imagine living in early Anglo-Saxon times. In the Museum there are fascinating displays telling the story of the settlement and people who lived there. West Stow also has an adventure playground, visitor centre, café and souvenir shop. Beyond the village compound there is a delightful 52 hectare country park perfect for picnics, bird watching, riverside walks and woodland trails.
