Winterton on Sea is a lovely unspoilt East Norfolk Coast seaside resort with a wonderful beach and sand dunes. There is a small village with a shop, post office, fish and chips and a pub, a large church, a holiday park with unusual thatched holiday homes and one of the first UK windfarms on the ridge to the west. The sand dunes are a nature reserve classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty, and are ideal for bird watchers and walkers. Just north of Winterton, a colony of grey seals can regularly be seen basking on the beach or bobbing along in the waves.
