Wisbech & Fenland Museum

Printer friendly version >
Wisbech & Fenland Museum is one of the oldest museums in the UK. It is unusual because it is not only a museum, but also home to two historic libraries and a substantial archive, holding diocesean and borough items. The collections were initiated by the town's Literary and Museum Societies and have continued to grow, but the essence of the Museum remains virtually unchanged. The Museum is also housed in a beautiful Georgian building and celebrates its association with Thomas Clarkson, who was born in the town, and the anti-slavery movement.
