Wymondham is an attractive historic market town with red roofs and an Abbey church with massive twin towers set against the Tiffey Valley. The town has maintained its market town atmosphere, has an attractive town centre, some outstanding historic buildings and a good shopping area. Wymondham railway station has been restored. Its buildings house a museum, gift shop, themed restaurant and tea room. The town earned its wealth from wool, but another industry, the making of small wooden objects also survived evidenced through street names such as Spooner Row.
