In September 1944, the Allies launched Operation Market Garden, a daring mission designed to bring World War II to an end in less than 100 days. It involves an invasion of Germany with 35,000 troops whose aim was to destroy the Reich's war plants. This award winning epic retelling of one of the War's biggest military gambles thwarted by a combination of battlefield politics, faulty intelligence, bad luck and inclement weather is directed by Richard Attenborough and has an all star cast.

The mansion and golf course at Moor Park were used as a backdrop for General Browning's Head Quarters. Lt. General Frederick Browning (Dirk Bogarde) has gathered together the generals to be responsible for each aspect of the operation. Present are Major General Robert Urquhart (Sean Connery), Major General Stanislaw Sosabowski (Gene Hackman), Brigadier General James Gavin (Ryan O'Neal) and Major General Maxwell Taylor (Paul Maxwell). Browning talks through the stages of the operation and the group discuss the likely outcomes. Sosabowski is particularly concerned the mission is unlikely to succeed but is ignored. Later Browning and Major Fuller (Frank Grimes), also concerned about the mission, walk down the mansion steps across the grounds whilst Fuller persuades Browning to approve another reconnaissance mission over Arnhem. After Fuller hears his advice has been overruled he is approached in the grounds by Colonel Sims (Gerald Sim) in a later scene. Fuller continues to express his concerns and is under duress. Sims persuades Fuller to take sick leave and the pair walk back towards the mansion. The final scene shot at Moor Park show everyone preparing for the operation both physically and mentally; Urquhart takes to practicing his golf swing.
