Directed by Errol Morris, this award-winning documentary is about the challenging life and pioneering work of cosmologist Stephen Hawking. Stephen Hawking wrote a book with the same name however whilst the documentary film is a biography of his life, the book is more of an explanation of cosmology. A Brief History of Time was based at Elstree Studios in Borehamwood and the film had all the characters depicted in the book playing themselves.
