Directed by Mark Mylod and written by Sacha Baron Cohen and Dan Mazer, this comedy has Ali G (Sacha Baron Cohen) as the leader of Da West Staines Massiv, a fictional gang. When it becomes known that the local leisure centre is to be demolished by the council, the gang are devastated. Ali G chains himself to some railings in protest and goes on hunger strike. He then comes to the attention of the Deputy Prime Minister (Charles Dance) and is unwittingly drawn into politics becoming the nation's ‘voice of realness’. Events continue to unfold which challenge what Ali G started out trying to achieve! This is the first of three films based on the popularity of the Da Ali G Show produced for television. Ali G Indahouse did however receive mixed reviews. Michael Gambon plays the Prime Minister.
