Alpha Male is an emotional tale of family life involving great love and terrible loss, dysfunctionality as well as repressed emotions. Directed by Dan Wilde the film tells the tale of the Ferris family. When Jim (Danny Huston) is diagnosed with a fatal illness, the family are thrown into disarray. Alice Ferris (Jennifer Ehle) eventually moves on and marries Clive Lamis (Patrick Baladi) which Jack Ferris (Mark Wells) cannot readily accept. 11 years later the family come together for Jack’s 21st birthday party weekend and finally begin to deal with some of the long buried issues. Alpha Male was largely well received with The Financial Times declaring it to be ‘a Gosford Park for the Google Age’.
