Directed by Christopher Miles for Anglia Television this spoof documentary invented a conspiracy to colonise a secret base on Mars with scientists and politicians in the event of climate change resulting in Earth becoming uninhabitable. It was supposed to have been broadcast on April Fool’s Day on April 1st 1977 as a joke but various delays lead to transmission in June 1977 and resulted in public outcry.
