Blackadder Back and Forth
Printer friendly version >
Nominated for a BAFTA for Best Situational Comedy and co-financed by Sky Television and the BBC with direction by Paul Weiland, the plot has Edmund Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson) hosting a Millennium Eve dinner party and Baldrick (Tony Robinson) having devised yet another plan for Edmund to con money from his friends. They build a time machine and ask their friends to lay bets as to when in history they will travel. However, the time machine works and they are transported back to the Jurassic period! They then endeavour to get back home and trek back and forward through time. Whilst produced some 10 years after the final episode of the Blackadder TV series, Blackadder: Back and Forth reunites many of the original cast and crew including Stephen Fry (Bishop Flavius Melchett, Melchett, General Melchecus and Wellington), Miranda Richardson (Lady Elizabeth and Queen Elizabeth), Tim McInnerny (Archdeacon Darling, Duc de Darling and Duke of Darling) and Hugh Laurie (Viscount George Bufton-Tufton and Georgius). There are also cameo appearances from Colin Firth (William Shakespeare) and Kate Moss (Maid Marian).
